Our Story

True to our name, we're all about taking things one piece, or step, at a time.

In today's world it's easy to get caught up in, well, everything. With global pandemics, climate change, Brexit, Donald Trump and the toxic nature of 'selfie culture' to navigate, it's unsurprising that our mental health is taking a hit. It's more important than ever to take time for yourself to switch off from life's everyday pressures and to reconnect with yourself and those close to you. Whether it's reading a new book, listening to your favourite album, cooking a new recipe or even doing a puzzle, we need to hit pause on the rat race and all things digital, engage our senses and enjoy some of life's simple, more tangible pleasures.

Piecemeal Puzzles was born to enable us to do just this. We're here to share the mentally-rejuvenating benefits of doing a good old-fashioned puzzle, but reimagined and recrafted in a way that's a whole lot easier on the eye than the one you may remember from your grandma's kitchen table.

On a more personal note, our founder Elke discovered her love of puzzles whilst looking for something that felt grounding and serene after her mum passed away. After stumbling upon a dusty old puzzle in the back of a cupboard, she was surprised to find that the calm that came from doing a puzzle was exactly what she was looking for.

Multiple puzzle endeavours later, she got bored of staring at yet another dainty cottage or weathered landscape and thought why not create a brand and design which you'd be equally happy framing on your wall, as spending hours delicately piecing together...

...And with that in mind, we're excited to introduce you to our debut collection, including 'California Nights', 'Summer Of 2020' and 'Fishing In Burano'. Each jigsaw also has a bespoke playlist for you to listen to, so you can really immerse yourself in the artwork and enjoy the sweet sounds of Italy, the Sunshine State and bobbing along in the ocean. We also have plenty more exciting things in the pipeline, so stay tuned via our newsletter (you can sign up at the bottom of our homepage) if you'd like to be in the know.
